I’ve very happy with this band. I don’t care about HR capability or accuracy. In fact the first thing i did was disable it. I’m not even super interested in the pedometer. But it’s nice to have. All i wanted was music controls and reliable notifications. This band does both excellently. The music controller reacts faster and more reliable than any other smart watch I’ve had. And i has both an Android smart watch as well as an Apple Watch. Notifications, while very small, are also reliable. Battery life is as advertised at a minimum of 20 days. One time i got 25 days and the watch was still at 20%. If you’re thinking about it, get it. The waterproofness is also accurate. I wear it in the shower everyday with no problem. Just have to lock the screen.

I have used the Mi Fit 4 for a little over a year. I would have rated it around 4 stars. I used it primarily for swimming and it worked fairly well while occasionally not recording my workout. It would record the time, but all the stats were zero which was very annoying especially when I knew I had set some personal best records.

In the most recent Mi Fit App update (version 3.1.3) which is an entirely new app, the Mi Fit 4 does not pair via the app and has shown up as a pairing device via Bluetooth on my Samsung Galaxay Note 20 Ultra. The Android version is 12 and was updated recently directly from Samsung. the Mi Fit 4 didn't work before or after the most recent update April 11, 2022 on the new Mi Fit app.

I've tried everything from rebooting the Mi Band 4, installing and reinstalling the Mi Fit App, turning on and off Bluetooth, restarting my phone, and finally doing a factory reset of the Mi Fit 4 which has now made my Mi Fit 4 a brick because after the factory reset, the device says "pair first." which is has been the problem. So, now I can't even use the device let alone see any data from the Mi Fit app.

UPDATE: I called Xiaomi USA. The app for thenMi Band 4 has changed names. The app currently in the Android Play store under the name Mi Fit is NOT for the Mi Band 4. They changed the name to Zepp Life. I was able to pair my Mi Band 4 via Zepp Life and everything works fine. Zepp Life isn't a new app. It the old Mi Fit app with a name change. I didn't have to install it because it was already there. I just thought the Mi Fit app somehow got removed and installed the new one which didn't work as stated above. Anyway, Everything is working fine now.

So I originally purchased "the OTHER fitness tracker" but returned it because it was not accurate at all and was absolutely over reporting my steps.

Pros of Xiaomi Mi Band 4:
-Color display
-The ability to change the display by adding pictures, which changes the look of the display items
-Accuracy - The Mi band is more accurate than not. I have noticed that at times, it doesnt add your steps right away, but if you look back at your steps within few mins, you'll noticed it's added. Some owners of the Mi Band have stated that they feel it is inaccurate when counting steps by under reporting (not counting all steps). However, for me, I'd rather have a device that under reports my steps than over reports my steps. If it under reports then it still motivates me to try to do more steps to reach my goal. If it over reports, you'll end up doing less because you think you've reached your goal. The over reporting happened to be with the "other fitness tracker."
-Map - When you start an exercise THROUGH THE Mi Fit APP, NOT DIRECTLY FROM THE Mi Band, you're able to see a map of where you exercised, the distance you have traveled, speed. Once completed with the exercise, it shows you a very thorough summary of your exercise: the times you sped up or slowed down are indicated by color, the number of step, your adage heart rate, etc.
- Notifications- It notifies you when you have been inactive for a certain amount of time by vibrating.
- Charging - To charge the device, simply stretch out the band and push out the watch, align the charger ports on watch with the charging ports on the charger and plug it in.
- Battery- This battery last for a VERY LONG TIME. the longest time I've gone without charging is almost 1 month. The more you use the heart rate feature, the quicker the battery will drain.

Cons:
- I wish it kept a log or track of your when you start an exercise in the app. Some time I would like to go back and compare with other days by checking to see if i did more or less steps with that exercise or my average heart rate,, but I can't. Once you finish an exercise and exit the app, it erases.
- Find my device - I've only had to do this once, but it wsnt helpful at all because when you click "find my device" all it does is vibrate and its not even a continuous vibrating until you find it.

Way more pros than cons with this device and you will not be disappointed.

So, I bought this back in August (2020) and it worked fine. It doesn't seem to get any sleep info from me, it's unclear if that's a feature I have to pay for. It's not super accurate, but enough for my needs. I just want to set a goal and achieve it, and casually track my heart rate because my current medication can affect that.

I took it off at my desk and just let it sit there for a few weeks. I recently tried to recharge it, and with all the business of the holidays didn't think about it till a few days later. The screen flashed a moment, then nothing. I tried various ways to activate the screen (changing alerts, cleaning with a soft dry cloth, plugging and unplugging) nothing was working. I contacted Amazon who had me contact the manufacturer.

This is where I don't recommend the product - I was asked to email them, so I did- I explained the issue in my initial email. The person who responded asked me to USE THE SCREEN to factory reset the device. I explained that I cannot and was passed to another person. I think I had 3-4 different people, each email was a new tech. Each time they didn't seem to understand what was actually wrong - I finally asked for a replacement and they told me to contact the seller. [Note: If one way to fix the screen is factory resetting it, then maybe make that an option in the app?]

I'm currently waiting to see what the seller will do (somebody selling through Amazon) - I guess it exceeded the window of time that Amazon itself would handle it, but the device is still under warranty. (12 month) so we'll see how they handle it. I have been playing email tag with the manufacturer for a week or so. Feeling pretty burnt out on this.

5.0 out of 5 stars La MEJOR PULSERA de actividad (MAYO 2020). Ver final, FUNCIONES EXTRA. Garantía y versión global.

Reviewed in Spain 🇪🇸 on August 21, 2019

5.0 out of 5 stars A feature-rich – affordable – lightweight and efficient smart band!

Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on August 8, 2020

I bought this watch NOT because I needed a fitness tracker or heart rate monitor, but out of curiosity.
Now that the market is dominated by the famous Apple Watch, Samsung Watch, Garmin etc. which have a more painful price – Xiaomi Mi Band 4 caught my attention through its features at such an affordable price.
So, I decided to give it a try.

You can easily see the time and date, step count, battery life, messages, caller ID, and other notifications coming from your Bluetooth-paired phone - on the colourful and bright OLED display.
· One feature that I really like is the customisable watch faces you can download. There are tons of customisable watch faces on the internet. The combination of colourful watch face options combined with the vivid AMOLED display just adds to the premium feel of the Mi Band 4.

· It's extremely comfortable to wear and not at all bulky - you truly do almost forget that you even have it on.
· Build is durable. I've accidentally knocked the face on various surfaces, and it still doesn't have a scratch. The band seems to be holding well against daily wear and tear, so far.
· The heart rate is near perfect accuracy most of the time as I've compared to manually checking my heart rate.
· The battery life is fantastic. I haven't charged it in almost 10 days and it's at 41%.
NOTE: the battery life will depend on the settings you've chosen.

👉 The Alarm + Custom vibration patterns are my favourite features of this band. No more annoying alarm sounds in the morning for me.
Just set up a time and frequency - and this band will gently wake you up with a vibration at the scheduled time.
ⓘ Mi Fit -> Profile -> Mi Smart Band 4 -> Alarm -> Vibration
And then you can add a custom pattern for your alarms or apps notifications.

✔ Pros:
+ Comfortable and lightweight to wear
+ Water resistant (up to 50m)
+ Heart rate monitoring
+ Automatic activity tracking
+ Incredible battery life
+ Bright and colourful AMOLED display
+ Customisable watch faces

✖ Cons:
- No Auto Brightness.
Brightness control from within the band menu is a useful feature that helps you save / optimize battery. It would be nice if they had implemented an automatic brightness by using a brightness/lumen sensor but that's probably a feature for future iterations of this band.

Overall, I would recommend to any of my friends looking for an affordable fitness tracker.
